Dr Guglielmo Vastola

Dr Guglielmo Vastola, PMP®, is a Scientist and Project Manager at the A*STAR's Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) in Singapore. Guglielmo’s experience focuses on modeling and simulations of additive manufacturing, with particular emphasis on selective laser melting, electron beam melting, and selective laser sintering processes for both metallic and plastic industrial components. With an international experience in both private as well as public agency sectors, Guglielmo is combining scientific and project management skills to deliver IHPC’s vision of an advanced simulation software for additive manufacturing, what we call a “Digital Twin”.

Guglielmo’s background spans years in modeling and simulation of materials and manufacturing processes. He has also worked on advanced strained-gate transistors and high-efficiency solar cells. A physicist and materials scientist by training, he is a fellow of Collegio Borromeo in Italy, a top university college which is among the oldest in the world.
