A*STAR Team Wins International Magnesium Award for Innovative Process of the Year 2025

AIC is proud to announce that the A*STAR SIMTech team (Dr. Sharon Nai, Dr. Mojtaba Salehi, and Dr. Seet Hang Li) has been awarded the International Magnesium Award 2025 for Innovative Process of the Year.

This prestigious recognition celebrates the team’s outstanding contributions to advancing magnesium processing innovation and underscores their commitment to excellence and impactful research. The award was presented by the International Magnesium Society (IMS) during the 2025 Magnesium Science & Technology Award Ceremony at the International Magnesium Materials Summit in November 2025. It honours breakthrough achievements that push the boundaries of magnesium science, technology, and industrial applications.

 Jointly established by the International Magnesium Society (IMS), the Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA), and the Caixing Foundation, the Magnesium Science & Technology Awards recognize global leaders and innovators whose research drives advancements in lightweight materials, sustainable manufacturing, and transformative industrial practices.

The award-winning work, “DigiMg – Digital Manufacturing of Personalized Magnesium Implants via Binder Jetting and Automated Post-Machining”, exemplifies the team’s commitment to next-generation biomedical solutions through innovation in end-to-end additive manufacturing of magnesium materials, marking a significant step forward in personalized healthcare technologies.
