With advances in technology and a growing demand for cutting-edge healthcare solutions, the development of medical devices has become an increasingly crucial field. This training course will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to make a lasting impact in the field of new product development for medical devices. SIMTech’s expert instructors, all accomplished professionals in the medical technology sector, will guide the participants through the product development journey - from ideation and concept validation to design, prototyping, and regulatory compliance.
Throughout this training, participants will delve into the key principles and best practices involved in the product development lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization. They will explore the regulatory landscape, quality assurance processes, market analysis, prototyping techniques, and much more. By the end of this course, participants will possess the expertise needed to navigate the complex challenges of developing safe, effective, and compliant medical devices.
Through SIMTech’s innovative Learn-Practise-Implement™ (LPI™) plus mentorship training, participants will develop confidence in new product development, especially for medical products such as molecular diagnostic device.
About the Programme
Led by industry experts with extensive experience in medical device development, this course offers a unique opportunity to learn from the best in the field. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, interactive discussions, and practical exercises, participants will gain a deep understanding of the essential concepts and strategies required to drive successful medical device innovation.
The participants will learn about fundamental design principles as well as engineering concepts that are applied to the medical device innovation, including:
- New product identification, medical product life cycle and sustainability
- Medical product regulation and quality management system
- Concept modeling using 3D CAD
- 3D printing by Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM)
Who Should Attend
This course module is designed for and targeted at engineers or PMETs (professionals, managers, executives and technicians ) who have a degree or background knowledge of mechanical or product design and interested in the knowledge and skills pertaining to new product development. SIMTech also welcome participants who are seeking for skills improvement and knowledge enhancement in medical product development to participate in this course.
