Energy management is a key tool to improve sustainability. It is the process of monitoring, controlling and conserving energy use, enabling unnecessary energy use to be systematically identified and eliminated, thereby increasing the overall energy efficiency of equipment and facilities.
Leveraging Industry 4.0, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, a smart energy management system enables data-driven optimisation of energy performance and integration of best energy management practices into daily operations. This results in reduced energy cost, improved energy resilience and lower carbon emissions.
About the Programme
The Smart Energy Management for Sustainability programme begins with a bird’s eye view of factory and facilities as a holistic system; followed by a comprehensive discussion on the analytical techniques for energy efficiency. Participants will be introduced to Industry 4.0 technologies, data analytic techniques, and by the end of the course, equipped with the knowledge of how to acquire data in real-time, analyse them, and formulate energy efficiency initiatives.
This programme is designed for engineers and energy managers who wish to advance their competency in energy management, and apply the knowledge gained to improve the environmental sustainability of their companies through energy efficiency initiatives. Unlike conventional theory-based classroom learning, this programme is delivered using our Learn-Practise-Implement™ (LPI™) pedagogical model over
42 training hours. It includes hands-on practice with a case study, which can be done at the company site or
Model Factory@SIMTech.
Who Should Attend
The course is designed for energy efficiency initiative leaders, Singapore Certified Energy Managers (SCEMs), sustainability managers, engineers and managers of facilities and operation management with a keen interest or basic knowledge in the areas of energy efficiency monitoring and analytics.
It’s applicable for individuals and organisations with the intention to:
- Implement energy management system and energy efficiency initiatives to achieve greater sustainability
- Equip themselves with the skills for energy monitoring, data analysis and identification of energy saving potentials
- Apply the Energy Efficiency Monitoring and Analytics System (E²MAS) to manage and optimise energy consumption of equipment and facilities
