Smart Energy Management for Sustainability (20 Hours)
Introduction
Energy management is a key tool to improve sustainability. It is the process of monitoring, controlling and conserving energy use, enabling unnecessary energy use to be systematically identified and eliminated, thereby increasing the overall energy efficiency of equipment and facilities.
Leveraging Industry 4.0, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, a smart energy management system enables data-driven optimisation of energy performance and integration of best energy management practices into daily operations. This results in reduced energy cost, improved energy resilience and lower carbon emissions.
About the Programme
The Smart Energy Management for Sustainability programme starts with a holistic view of factories and facilities as an integrated system, followed by practical analytical techniques to drive energy efficiency. Participants are introduced to Industry 4.0 technologies and data analytics, and will learn how to acquire real-time data, analyse it, and translate insights into actionable energy efficiency initiatives. Designed for engineers and energy managers, the programme is delivered using the Learn-Practise-Implement™ (LPI™) pedagogy over 20 training hours, with hands-on practice through a case study conducted either at the company site or at Model Factory@SIMTech.
