EMBODIED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (EMBODIED AI)
Embodied AI (EAI) is the integration of advanced AI models into robots, enabling them to perceive, interact, and learn from the real world. EAI robots are able to carry out semi-skilled tasks in semi-structured environments with human-like perception, dexterity and cognition, performing domain-specific job functions to support workers.
A*STAR focuses on training robotics foundational models with multimodal perception and domain-specific expert knowledge, enabling robots to adapt to changing environments and situations with spatial awareness, interacting with humans and tools to complete tasks, as well as learning and composing task-relevant skills across various sectors.
