History

On 15 December 2020, A*STAR launched the pilot Innovation Factory led by Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), in partnership with Enterprise Singapore at Valley Block, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a pioneer batch of 14 member companies coming from a diverse mix of industry sectors. Through its process of IDEA – Ideation, Design, Engineering and Application, the Innovation Factory supports local companies in product innovation and development in order to move up the value chain and become more competitive. In just over a year, the Innovation Factory successfully launched 4 products into the commercial market, embarking nearly 40 companies as members and securing over 30 design projects.

Having recently relocated to an expanded facility of 870sqm at CleanTech Park in the Jurong Innovation District mid-2022, the Innovation Factory offers a larger facility to support a full spectrum of capabilities ranging from design to prototype fabrication. The Innovation Factory envisions to be a one stop solution centre for Singapore companies and supporting enterprises across the various stages of growth.
