Design Arc Welding

Arc welding processes have been widely used in various industries for many years and are still dominant among the various welding processes. This module will introduce participants to the fundamentals of the most popular arc welding processes, their advantages and limitations, process variables, operational costs and process applications. Also covered are the basic concepts of the weldability of various engineering materials. Furthermore, the development and trends of advanced arc welding techniques, such as cladding (or overlaying) and hardfacing, will also be introduced. As an important part in this module, case studies will be used to demonstrate the application of process and material knowledge and provide the participants with a thorough understanding of fabrication and repair using arc welding processes.
