Microfluidics is a multi-disciplinary field intersecting engineering, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, nanotechnology, and biotechnology, which is creating rapid growing markets worldwide in many areas such as clinical and personal diagnosis, drug screening, water and environment monitoring, food safety, and life science research. For this course, the participants will learn about the basic concepts of microfluidic technology, and the fundamentals of the device manufacturing. The participants will gain knowledge and skills on two major techniques for fabricating polymer microfluidic devices, which are plastic injection molding and joining. The course is conducted in an interactive way with case studies and hands-on experiments.
