Singapore International Robo Expo 2017 was a resounding success where over 2,500 attendees visited the expo on 2nd to 3rd November 2017. Singapore is developing a robotics ecosystem with Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam in a bid to take the regional lead as businesses worldwide increasingly use such technology to transform their operations. This was announced by Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Trade and Industry Dr Koh Poh Koon at the opening of the Singapore International Robo Expo. The Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) was one of the exhibitors at the event, showcasing its Mobile Manipulator, a collaborative robot which is integrated with an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), and Scan-N-Plan™ technologies, a suite of tool that enable real-time robot trajectory planning from 3-D scan data.
SMS Koh was featured viewing the demonstrations at the ARTC booth, and researcher Liang Chong Hui was interviewed on how such technologies could help boost productivity in the manufacturing industry.
