WDA MOU SIGNING

The Workforce Development Agency (WDA) held the ‘Future Skills for Advanced Manufacturing’ at the ARTC on 22nd February 2016. A Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signing between WDA and their strategic partners, including the ARTC was the highlight of this event and was witnessed by Parliamentary Secretary Low Yen Ling, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The MoU signing signifies collaboration in delivering a series of masterclasses covering advanced manufacturing skills in areas including additive manufacturing, advanced robotics & automation, big data analytics and optics and laser engineering.

The event was attended by approximately 100 guests comprising industry members, agencies, unions, trade & associations as well as the media. Speakers from Siemens and DMG Mori presented keynote speeches on advanced manufacturing trends and technologies such as the digitalisation of manufacturing and additive manufacturing. This was followed by a workshop tour where guests were introduced to the different capabilities of the ARTC.

The ARTC’s strategic partnership with WDA will aid in developing necessary skills required for the advancement of the manufacturing sector. This pushes the industry to remain at the forefront of technology and achieve operational excellence to produce a highly qualified workforce for Singapore.
