The Singapore Biodesign Innovation Fellowship is an intensive 10 months hands-on team-based training on the entire process of health technology innovation, focused on developing new health technologies for unmet clinical needs in Asia.
The Innovation Fellowship consists of the formation of multi-disciplinary teams comprising of engineers, doctors and business/industry professionals (though not limited to) who will be trained in the health technology innovation journey based on the Biodesign pedagogy from our joint program partner, Stanford Byers Centre for Biodesign.
The fellowship will feature high-touch training and mentorship by esteemed mentors from Singapore Biodesign and our joint program partner, Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign, who hail from different parts of Asia and Silicon Valley and are equipped with wide-ranging experience from relevant industry disciplines such as clinical, technical, venture and industry.
Below is the timeline of the SB fellowship showing the iterative ‘Identify’, ‘Invent’ and ‘Implement’ phases of Biodesign.
The Fellowship will be focused on applying the Biodesign process and uncovering local and regional healthcare needs so as to develop a solution for their top identified need. Hence, Fellows will be immersed in regional countries i.e China, Indonesia, to investigate unmet clinical needs and develop understanding of the local healthtech ecosystem.
In addition, Fellows will spend time in Silicon Valley/Stanford to further refine and develop implementation plans for their top projects under the guidance of seasoned commercialization domain experts so as to increase the chances of securing follow-on funding to continue their projects.
The SB Fellowship is open to driven, passionate individuals who are committed to taking on an entrepreneurial role in the Asian healthtech industry as a career post-Fellowship.
