Empowering Precision Through Smart Engineering and Partnership
"At Fidel Engineering, we specialise in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing for the aerospace industry, delivering one-stop solutions for complex, multi-process, high-precision components. Producing intricate parts often takes up to two months, with manual work and multiple audit stages making it difficult to respond quickly to customer demands. To address these challenges, we partnered with A*STAR SIMTech to pilot a Smart Engineering Systems (SES) Proof of Concept. The goal was to upskill our operators in establishing effective machining routines while discovering new ways to streamline production workflows.
Through this programme, our team learnt to implement smart process tools designed for rapid and repeatable setups in live production. We mapped workflows, identified critical control points, and introduced standardised pallets and fixtures across all operations; enabling scalability and consistency on the production floor. The SES initiative also allowed us to test new machining methods safely before full deployment.
As a result, setup time per machine was reduced by 83%, manpower requirements dropped by 66%, and misalignment rework decreased by 75%. These improvements have significantly freed our operators to focus on higher-value tasks such as process optimisation and quality assurance.
We are deeply grateful for our continued partnership with A*STAR SIMTech. Their guidance has helped Fidel Engineering evolve into a more digitally empowered, efficient, and resilient organisation."

Driving Smart Growth Through Partnership and Innovation
"At TAIYO Technology, we achieved 25% business growth between 2023 and 2025. As production expanded, our processes became more complex, creating bottlenecks across operations. To scale efficiently, we partnered with A*STAR through the Enterprise Transformation Project (with Mentorship Support Grant) programme to upskill our workforce in real-time track-and-trace systems. With A*STAR’s guidance, our team had the opportunity to study the technology directly within our plant. The programme was carefully customised to our needs, involving detailed requirement gathering and multiple Proof of Concept evaluations. The final system design was simplified for easy adoption, even for staff less familiar with digital tools. Our employees quickly saw how automated tracking and digital inventory systems improved their daily work.
Our engineers piloted an advanced injection mold management system, introducing automated tracking and digital inventory management. This built internal capabilities to improve mold utilisation and ensure seamless tool and process traceability. As a result, we progressed from zero visibility to real-time end-to-end tracking, improved inventory accuracy from 80% to nearly 100%, and reduced reporting time from half a day to just 10 minutes.
We deeply value A*STAR’s partnership and their understanding of our business needs. The combination of tailored training and mentorship has transformed how we approach digitalisation and prepared TAIYO Technology for the next phase of smart, sustainable growth."
